How often should you post on Instagram?

If you are wondering how often you should post on Instagram, I have three words for you: Consistency is key. This can be tricky. You want to post and be consistent, however, posting too much can cause an overwhelming loss of followers. The rules to being consistent but not TOO consistent on Instagram are simple:

Post a few times a week - You definitely want to be posting a few times a week. This gives your followers a good feel that you are always around, but you won’t be flooding their feed with all of your posts from throughout the week. Starting off about two times a week is what's best for you and your account. Once you see the type of reaction you are getting, you can switch up your posting status.

Create a posting schedule - If it helps, create a posting schedule! This will ensure that you meet your posting quota for the week. Play around with what days work best. Whether it's Tuesday and Thursday, Wednesday and Saturday, you name it! Also play around with what times work best too. There are certain times in the day that will get more attention than other times! It is crucial to your account to know what these certain times are, at the end of the day you want to make sure the majority of followers are seeing your posts. Once you're up and running, look into adding in a day to your posting schedule.

Don’t post too many times a week - As great as it is to stay consistent, too many posts will cause followers to lose interest. If you are constantly flooding their feed multiple times a day and week they will unfollow you. Your followers want to see more of you, yes, but you are not all they want to see! Be mindful about how many times you are posting and if your likes and followers are going up and dropping. Paying attention to how your followers are responding is crucial to your accounts success!

Add some stories in - Stories will be helpful with the engagement of your account. On your off days when you don’t have a post going out, post some stories to keep your account active. Followers really like these because they feel that they are still interacting with your account, without again, flooding their feed!
