Your Guide to Creating a Successful Social Media Strategy

Everyone’s social media platforms should involve a strategy. If you don’t have strategy, you have disorganization. If you don’t have a strategy, you have a chaotic mess of an account that makes no sense to the person viewing it (your followers)! A social media strategy will help organize your accounts and what needs to be posted when and at what time. It will also help your platforms run cohesively instead of all over the place. If you feel like your social media journey has not taken off like it should, you may be lacking a yup, you guess it, strategy. Here is our guide to creating a successful social media strategy!

Set goals - What are your goals when it comes to your social media platforms? It's important to sit down and really think about what you are looking to get out of having these accounts. It might be marketing and advertising, or just trying to connect with a different or larger audience. Whatever it may be, having these goals in mind is what is going to set the foundation for what your platforms will be. It will be much easier to achieve these goals when you have a clear sense of what they are.

Brainstorming content - It is always nice to get a headstart on what you want to be posted in the upcoming weeks. This will also help map out your platforms to create an organized and cohesive look. If the day before you're due to post you are scrambling to come up with something, chances are it is not going to come out the way you want. Sit down for an hour or two and really plan out your posts and what messages you want to convey to your followers in the future.

Hashtags - Hashtags are key to your social media platform. They are how you get your posts grouped together with other posts that are similar. This is perfect for when someone is looking for something specific, they could look up a certain hashtag and there your post is! Hashtags are also helpful to putting your posts on explore pages for even more people to see. All in all, hashtags are incredibly helpful with the success of your platforms.
